What the name Von Tasz represents...
Von Tasz eliminates the guesswork associated with selecting the perfect
puppy for you and your family. Our breeding program goal is to produce
the "total dog" - sound in both mind and body. Our breeding stock
is evaluated to be free of both Hip & Elbow Dysplasia by the Orthopedic
Foundation for Animals (OFA) and/or PennHip. They are all Champion titled
and are working towards advanced performance titles. They are backed up
with a pedigree reflecting several generations of excellence - demonstrating
beauty, brains, and brawn.
Shepherds are very social in nature, therefore, all of ours are a treasured family member first and foremost. They live in the house with us and have their very own (huge) toy box and many cozy doggy beds to relax on throughout. To keep them lean, well muscled, and in good health, we live on acreage that is fenced in and private, backing up to several hundred acres of open land and woods that will never be developed. We also regularly train our dogs to keep them mentally sharp and receptive to learning new tricks and training exercises.
About the Founder...
I have owned, bred, and trained white shepherds since 1981. Professionally,
I am a Business Analysis Manager, specializing in world-wide patent/trademark
law as well as our company's IP software and payment services.
My white shepherds have earned countless Champion titles, Multiple National
Specialty Best of Breeds, #1 Stud Dog awards, Best Puppy awards, as well
as, multiple Best In Shows (including the prestigous UKC Premier!), multiple
Reserve Best In Shows, multiple Herding Group placements, advanced obedience
titles with placements, multiple Tracking Dog titles, and multiple Sheep
Herding Titles (both AHBA and ASCA!). They have also been featured in DOGS
NEWS, on the cover of BLOODLINES magazine, and were highlighted in the
OLN 2005 UKC Premier show!
The Von Tasz bloodlines have produced the highest scoring white shepherd Flyball Grand Champion of all time as well as the first ever U-UD & AKC UDX white shepherd (one of two highest titled white shepherds in history!).
Since 1988, I have held many national and local officer positions within
prominent white shepherd clubs, including President of United White Shepherd
Club. I am formerly an obedience instructor at Wolverine Dog Training Club
(a licensed UKC club). I have also delivered a White Shepherd breed presentation
at a multi-breed seminar, explaining judging points to both UKC judges
and exhibitors. In 2007, I co-authored the WHITE SHEPHERD BOOK with my
dear friend.,
With respect to adopting one of our puppies, consideration will be given
to homes that are qualified to handle and raise one of our fine pups. We
are very careful about their placement and would like them to find homes
where they will thrive and be loved for their entire lives.
White Shepherds live an average of about 12 years. I can assure you they will be your dedicated family companion throughout their life. Notably, to keep them fulfilled as a working and herding breed, they require exercise, training, and socialization in order to have a happy and healthy life.
If you are interested in an upcoming litter, please fill out the puppy
questionnaire (on the litter information page) which asks for some information
about you, your family, your experiences with dogs, your reason for selecting
a White Shepherd, and what type of personality are you looking for in your
new family member.
